Reader,
Somehow, we're nearly through January. And with all of the snow days around here, let’s be real—finding time and energy to dive into Bible study can feel like trying to finish a 10-course meal on a busy weeknight. No time to chew...
Between work, family, laundry (how does it pile up so fast?), and the endless list of things to do, Bible study might seem like just another “I’ll get to it later” item.
What if I told you it doesn’t have to be overwhelming? In fact, it can be life-changing without requiring you to reorganize your entire calendar.
I’m here to offer practical tips—no theological degrees required—just real, easy-to-apply ways to make Bible study feel less like an obligation and more like a refreshing moment in your day. Sometimes, the only thing we have time for is a quick scroll through social media (guilty as charged), but what if we could swap a few of those scrolls for soul-refreshing moments in Scripture?
Over the next month, I’ll be sharing down-to-earth strategies to help you tackle Bible study like the pro (or at least the passionate) woman you are.
Spoiler alert: there’s no “perfect” way to do it—just the way that works for you. And yes, that may include an occasional cup of coffee… or three. ☕✨
Ready to dive in without drowning? Let’s do this.
In His love and (slightly sarcastic) grace,
Before getting into the nitty-gritty
– help me know how to best serve you
Step No. 1 - Take the time to pinpoint what’s truly contributing to the overwhelm.

TIPS JUST FOR YOU:
By answering this quick survey, you'll get personalized tips straight to your inbox!
Identify what's overwhelming you– even if it is that you can't find a space without constant distractions.
Make a list of those distractions; the most basic, the better!
To give you an idea, here's my list (yes, I struggle with overwhelm in Bible study, too):
- I'm not comfortable studying at my desk. I need a cozy chair near my study resources.
My Bible doesn't have tabs, and I get lost looking up cross-references. Tabs ordered & in place
My organization lacks structure, so I struggle to find my notes. Storing notes in my binder so they're in one place - will work on organization later.
- I tend to read Scripture to build content but struggle to focus on it for personal growth and relationship with God.
- ADHD and perimenopause have zapped my attention & energy, which interrupts comprehension and stifles memorization.
- I glaze over when I come to a name or word I don't recognize or understand.

So there you have it, some pretty basic reasons for overwhelm when it comes to getting into God's Word. But I've already tackled two of those reasons with simple solutions.
What items can you address by making small changes in your routine?
Remember, you are not alone in this, and you are more than capable of overcoming. Don’t let overwhelm steal your peace—let’s make Bible study something that refreshes rather than runs you ragged.
I’ll be here with you, cheering you on every step of the way.
